Happy Fourth of July! We are having hot weather and so today will be perfect parade and barbeque weather. Usually in the Seattle area we joke that summer starts July 5th because it's so cool and wet in June. This year has been much different. It's felt like summer for a couple of months already. I've read that we are actually in a drought now. Hard to believe after the fall and winter we had. Hopefully people will be responsible with their fireworks. The fire departments are concerned about fire danger with all of the dry, hot weather we've had in most of Western Washington including the suburbs.
Here's a little red, white and blue for the day:
Monarda 'Jacob Cline'
Bachelor Buttons 'Blue Boy' (cenataurea cyanus)
We're headed to our "downtown" for a parade and then home for a barbeque with my sister and her family.
Have a safe and fun weekend!
