Lewisia cotyledon
Woodland Phlox smells really good. I just planted it last year and it's doing great already.
Columbine are blooming all over the place. Most are self seeded and all look different from each other.
This Tiarella has been in my yard for years, but it had been in a dry shade bed and never did that great. Last summer I moved it to a front bed which is shady and the soil never dries, looks like it loves those conditions.
The Pink Flowering Dogwood blooming a month late with far fewer flowers than last year. It still looks very pretty though. The Dogwood in my backyard had no blooms at all this year.
Deutzia 'Pink Minor' is covered in flowers.
Alliums are just starting to pop open.
The new Clematis in a front container is so pretty, it's difficult to see the shades of pink in the picture.
Over the weekend we planted the plants that I had started from seed months ago. So far everything looks good even though it's still cool at night. I couldn't take looking at them withering away under the grow lights. Looks like we'll have rain off and on this week, but the temperatures are supposed to stay in the 60's at least.
Thanks for all your kind words about Linda on the previous post! She will be missed by many of us out in here in the blogosphere as well as by her family and friends.

Ahhhhh, like a garden walk for me WITHOUT weeds!
ReplyDeleteI just came inside from the garden and decided to visit with you. Wonderful, wonderful. So different from mine and so much appreciated.
Thank you hard worker,

Beautiful blooms Catherine. I've been noticing all the allium in the many gardens. This is one plant I must have next year. I already have my next spring list going.
ReplyDeleteCatherine, I do believe you have the prettiest yard in your neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so bright and fresh, that's one of the perks from this late spring.
ReplyDeleteI love the Lewisia, can't wait until mine blooms, I don't know what color it is yet....just got it.
A woodland phlox, do you know what zone it is [crossing fingers] I must put one on my list for our next garden, which is zone 5 maybe?

Despite all the drizzle everything is bone dry up here and already needs attention from the irrigation system. Hard to believe!
ReplyDeleteWe had a pretty dry weekend, but have yet to see sunshine.
What a happy, springy post! Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden.
ReplyDeleteThe Lewisii looks _splendid_! Thank you for the photos.
ReplyDeleteJen - It looks like the Woodland Phlox is hardy in zones 3 - 8, so it should work for you.
ReplyDeleteWow, Catherine, you have so many different plants blooming right now. It looks like they are making up for the delay this spring. My favorites are the tiarealla, allium, and the beautiful clematis. I am always so impressed by the variety of plants that you are growing in your garden and feel inspired to aim for more plant diversity myself in my own yard. Thanks!

Love your new Clemmy. And that Deutsia is to die for. I'm hoping at least it will stay moderately warm this week even if we have to have rain. Fingers crossed for all your newly planted goodies.
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks like it has come alive with blooms almost overnight!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty...
I love those sweet Lewissia cotyledon and have several in my garden as well.
Hope the sun is shining down on your patch today.
I think Lewisa has the most fabulous colors. Yours is just beautiful. Your new clematis is so pretty Catherine. It is so good to see the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteEvery blossom is a blessing! Beautiful ~ simply beautiful.
ReplyDelete'hugs from afar'
I always get so excited when I see you've done a new post, Catherine. I come rushing right over! Your garden is looking beautiful!!! Such a contrast from the way it looks in the heart of winter compared with right now! You must be feeling overjoyed after all those long, cold, dark months of waiting and dreaming :) I'd spend every waking moment out there if I were you! It's just gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful blooms...so gorgeous! Your Allium look amazing! Love all those self-seeded Columbines...I love the spontaneous mix of colors!
ReplyDeleteGreat post....wonderful flowers.....love Ria....xxx...
ReplyDeleteEverything looks really good Catherine. It is funny about our zones, my Purple Sensation Allium has been blooming for two weeks. But, you know how we are, have 90's for a few days then down to the 40's.
ReplyDeleteWe have had more rain and my roses are covered with aphids. It's constant patrol.

Catherine everything looks lovely. I love the color of your Clematis and can tell that the Alliums are going to be pretty as well..
ReplyDeleteare Alliums planted in the fall in order for them to open for the following spring? I've always liked Alliums but never got around to planting any.
So glad the weather is cooperating for you. Such a cold and soggy start to spring this year. I have some wildflowers blooming together here, that shouldn't normally! Your dogwood is still beautiful. I wish I could have one here...darned deer.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful & bright blooms! Love the colombine. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine, I really like your Tiarella :) It would be quite a stand out in a shade garden. Your gardens look very cheerful in the, the dose of vitamin D was good for all of us I think. Your new clematis looks like one I had Grace help me identify in my garden on my past post. Such a pretty color! I did order your recommended Jackamani?sp..but it won't arrive until fall. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Things are really progressing at the Garden in Progress:) Thanks for sharing the photos. You have some interesting plants I will have to see if some of them will grow in my zone.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers as usual. We never get to see these flowers here.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I made a mistake in names in my comment to your last post.
Beautiful. I love the pink dogwood
ReplyDeleteLove the photography. I really enjoy seeing Alliums this time of year. They remind me of fireworks.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blooms! I agree, that Tiarella is happier in its new place. Sorry your dogwoods didn't do so well this year. That pink one is a gorgeous shape.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful bloom selection you've got going! I'm jealous of the dogwood. In theory it grows here, but not happily, so it's nice to enjoy yours.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! That allium is lovley and your foam flower looks very happy it its new spot.
ReplyDeleteThat columbine is out of control beautiful!!! Do you know what its name is? It's just amazing!
The pink columbine (you gave me seeds for during the Gardening by Letter project) are starting to bloom! I'm so happy! :-) Thanks again. Your garden is so pretty ~ love the dogwood especially (even if it doesn't have as many blooms as normal).
