When Anna from Flowergardengirl first suggested the Gardening by Letter idea I couldn't wait to join in. Her thought was that so much of our mail comes from bills and advertisements that getting the mail isn't as fun as it used to be. People just don't write cards and letters the way they used to now that we have email, etc. How often do we get cards and letters now unless it's a birthday or a holiday? So Anna organized this Project and lucky me, I get to be a part of it.
Like this Stellar's Jay waiting for his turn at the feeder, I couldn't wait for my turn in the month of May.
Opening the cards and letters from everyone was so much fun. There were handmade cards, beautiful photos, seeds, handmade gifts and more. I want to say "Thank You" to each of you.

I so enjoyed getting my turn, and it was worth the wait! Not only that, but I discovered some great new blogs as well.
Oh wow, that looks like such a fun package Catherine. I can't wait for my turn either! I'm glad you liked my card. That makes me happy. Enjoy your goodies. I just planted Cerinthe for the first time this year (I noticed a seed packet in the second photo). I hope it grows well for both of us. Now you've just reminded me I need to get busy and make Junes card!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really wonderful idea: its true that we get very little by way of "nice" mail these days.Im glad you seem to have received a bumper bundle of fun ;-)
ReplyDeleteOH good! I'm so glad you got it. Isn't it grand! Lots of creative folks and such a fun project too. I always smile when I get it out the door as I know the treasures inside.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will enjoy the magazine. Seemed like a lot of ideas for you and the girls.
Big hugs!
What an awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteHey Girl: I'll be with you momentarily:-) I've got Lyme Disease now! Sorry for the delay:-( Jan
ReplyDeleteHow much fun is this? Wonderful idea, I tried to sign up too late for it......I enjoy seeing what others have received though. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks like a fun thing to do. You're so right, mail isn't much fun anymore.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun - I hate to even check my mail. When I am expecting something I look regular.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea and a welcome change to all those bills and junk mail !
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! And a good way to 'meet' others.
ReplyDeleteKathleen - Thanks again! I'm going to try the Cerinthe, I hope it's not too late. I hope yours do great.
ReplyDeleteJulie - It sure was fun to open the envelope. Sometimes I wait to get the mail just because I know nothing exciting will be there.
Anna - Thanks again! I'm going to sit on the deck and read the magazine tomorrow.
Laura - It really was.
Jan - I'm sorry to hear that! You've really been having some bad luck lately. I'm sending you good thoughts! Please do not worry about the card :)
Darla - Maybe another group of bloggers could start something similar? I was lucky I was up late reading blogs the night Anna posted the idea.
Susie - Usually just ads, boring! :)
Becca - Sometimes I do just put it off, unless I'm expecting something, like this :)
Anna - Very welcome change.
Tina - It is another good way to meet others, and find some great new blogs as well!
What a great idea! It's true... I hate going to the mailbox because there's usually only bills now so its nice when you get something fun. -Jackie
ReplyDeleteHow nice! I agree, it seems that mail nowaways is all ads and bills.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. Looks like a lot of fun to get a package like that.
ReplyDeleteIt's like being a kid again and waiting for a birthday card! Brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed your package and all the goodies inside :) Let's have a celebratory cuppa together sometime!
Thanks for the visit over at my place and like you, I'm enjoying discovering some new blogs courtesy of Anna's thoughtful project.
