2 natural beauties.

I finally remembered to bring my camera to my littlest daughter's preschool the other day.  It's held in a church out in an area that's still a bit wooded.  I love that on this street no one has cut down these trees.  I thought the ferns and moss growing on them were so pretty, they really caught my eye.  I put the antique filter on the HP image zone editing and I thought it turned out pretty nice.  It's been fun trying out different settings.
This beauty of course is the more beautiful of the two I think.  No editing necessary here.  This playhouse is inside the playground that is surrounded by these trees, she loved playing outside that day even though it was only in the 40's.

  3. It's heartening to see something still (even in a limited way) in a primeval state. I imagine the whole of the Northwest once looked like that - dense and mossy and festooned with ferns. Thanks for taking that pic and posting it.

As for the bright pink 'flower' - absolutely lovely! ;-)

  4. I love the antique pic- very nice. Don't you just love moss? Some people actually kill it! The second photo needs no comment...it speaks for itself :)

  6. Nutty Gnome - thanks!!

Nathan - thanks for joining in. I'll be over to visit your blog.

Kris - That's the same thought I had. Wouldn't it have been gorgeous? Isn't she cute, if I do say so myself!

Tessa - It doesn't look as good on here as it does on i photo, still not bad. Moss can be beautiful, except in our grass.

Frances - Thanks. She's a real character that's for sure. I'm glad she loves to be outside, just like her big sister.

  9. Do you call that moss "Old Man's Beard?" Years ago, while traveling in Canada, a naturalist described their hanging moss that way. Your daughter is as cute as can be (and as happy!) ;-)

  10. Lona - Thanks. It's hard to convince her to leave there. She thinks it's "her" house.

patientgardener - It really feels like you are deep in the forest until you drive a block to the main road.

Shady - I'm not sure what it's called, I might have to do a little research. Thank you for complimenting my daughter. She is a sweet little girl!

  12. Yes, you did post 2 natural beauties! Your daughter looks like she loves being outside. Our grandson and I went out with Heidi, our yellow lab for a little while yesterday. He was so delighted to be out there, but was not content for me to carry him around like he used to be.

  15. That's a neat trick with the filter. The ferns are amazing and the trees look furry, almost. What a precious pic of your little girl. She looks so happy.

  16. Melanthia - since I started this blogging I've learned so much about the camera and computer. I guess it got me to try some new things. Now what I really want is a new camera. This one is OLD!
