I noticed some new activity in our backyard the other day. It seems that the Black-capped chickadees have done a final walk through on the birdhouse and have put up a "Sold" sign. They seem to be moving in.
Our new neighbors seem to be very friendly, allowing me to get very close while they took a final look at their new home.
Can't wait to meet their babies!
thats so cute. water and dining are great selling points!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Birdhouses are next on the list of garden additions. I bought a Melissa & Doug house for the little guy to paint. But where do you tend to find good houses, and how do you decide which ones to get?
ReplyDeleteI love the birdhouse. Oh, and the birds are great too!

Those little guys have the best real estate on the block.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a sweet birdhouse - and on the waterside too. Lucky birds!
ReplyDeleteMust put up a birdhouse a bit closer to our house instead of always sticking them away up in the woods at the top of the garden!
Such a beautiful area for the birds. These are the most comical birds to watch - they are so active!
ReplyDeleteHigh rise waterfront property is hard to find!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful neighbors you got! I'd love to meet their kiddos too.
ReplyDeleteFeathered friends real estate!!!

Now those are neighbors you WANT to move in! Great post:)
ReplyDeleteI love those birds.
ReplyDeleteI love watching them nest every year. Occasionally we have one family after the first one leaves. They are so fun to watch flying in and out with nesting supplies, then food for the babies. We can hear the babies chirping every time a parent bird arrives with food.
ReplyDeleteThis house is from Wild Birds Unlimited from many years ago. We have another one the birds use that I found at a craft fair.
Hi Catherine, what a delightful new neighbor, or I should say neighbors. I love the sweet chickadees, who could resist that lovely location? Your previous post was so funny, good to know that you know your way around power tools. Love the wallflowers. The variegated one bloomed twelve months straight last year before pooping out. I will get more of those. What a deal on Ivory Prince, WOW!

Cute pics Catherine. The waterfront property and local restaurants would have sealed the deal for me too!!!
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty. I just put up 4 new birdhouses. I add more every year. I love to watch all the activity. ~Brooke
ReplyDeleteOh, good! More babies for you to care for! I just love these little guys. They are so cute hopping around eating bugs off the trees. Sometimes I just sit and watch them- very peaceful!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I keep showing my husband posts like that for bird houses. I hope he finds time and materials to put some of those up.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet your birdhouse is. It looks cute amonst the forsythia and pond. So many amenities close at hand, it's no wonder the chickadees snapped up the offer. The other birds will regret their decision to wait!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I have 2 bird houses up (and an owl house) but so far, no takers. Maybe next spring...
ReplyDeleteCatherine~~ Your chickadees are so cute. I love their different little chirpings. They definitely got the best house on the block.
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! I love the little chickadees.
ReplyDeleteThat is the best blessing isn't it? Sweet little things and so cheery.
ReplyDeleteThe chickadees will make fine neighbors too. You will like them. Try some of those sunflower chips and pieces (without the hulls or already hulled) for them as a kind of welcome to the neighborhood gift.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments. I love watching them too. The are the friendliest of the birds that come into our yard. We have other birdhouses in our yard, but this is the only one they consistently choose.
ReplyDeleteI think and extra special treat would be nice too!
